Manager of Quality Control

About the position:

Reporting directly to the CEO, with a dotted line to the Executive Director of Operations, the Manager of QC is responsible for creating documentation, processes, and systems to assure product quality for Lightning Systems powertrain products.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work with key Lightning Suppliers to understand and drive the quality of incoming parts, and put in place an incoming audit/inspection program
  • Work with the production and upfit teams to improve quality through new processes, systems, automation, and tools/fixtures
  • Work with the production and upfit teams to put in place in-line and post-production inspection processes
  • Document processes and systems and maintain documents for key certifications (Ford eQVM)
  • Communicate quality status, concerns, and progress to the Lightning executive team weekly through dashboard metrics and a short written report.

Skills / Experience / Knowledge required:

  • 5 years’ experience in a production/manufacturing environment, preferably in the transportation space
  • Experience and familiarity with ISO 9001 and QS 9000
  • Experience in designing tooling & production processes
  • Experience or willingness to take on a startup and growing environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, quality, or manufacturing
  • Must be a team player and have strong interpersonal relationship and proactive communication capabilities
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail, results oriented
  • Enjoys writing, with strong communication skills
  • Travel is required (Up to 20%)

About the position:

Reporting to the Director of Program Management, this is a customer facing role and serves as primary liaison between our customers and the company after the sale.  As the “face” of Lightning Systems to our customers, you will be the direct interface with our internal departments on timelines, deliverables, and customer communication.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to create schedules, track progress, and overall vehicle deliverable schedules
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure timely delivery of components and assemblies for builds as well as end deliveries
  • Support Engineering and Operations in the commissioning, testing and repair of vehicles
  • Collect and act on customer feedback
  • Provide program status for Lightning leadership
  • Oversee on site customer training of drivers and techs
  • Provide technical expertise to assist with Business Development objectives

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

Mandatory:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in technical program or project management with ability to manage timelines and project deadlines
  • Knowledge of Project Management fundamentals.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, prints, schematics and diagrams.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with MS Office, Project Management software (Instagantt Software or Gantt software)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record; and ability to operate vehicles up to 26,000lbs GVWR (must be able to provide driver’s license information if given conditional job offer in order to be verified by company’s insurance premium coverage).
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred:

  • Experience in the automotive or manufacturing industries
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Field Service Technician

Lightning Systems designs and manufacturers zero emission all-electric powertrains for commercial vehicles.

This position is for a Field Service Technician, responsible for providing a high level of on-site and remote support to Lightning Systems customers and service providers. A qualified person in this position acts as a mobile field service technician to resolve technical (mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic) issues in a timely fashion in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. This position is multi-functional, serving as a technical resource to help customer and service provider technicians identify, troubleshoot, and resolve in-field issues along with a number of other responsibilities within the company

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a customer-facing technical member of the Customer Operations team.
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain existing and future fielded Lightning Systems products (local and remote).
  • Interface and communicate with engineers, other staff, and customers to provide effective end-user support to resolve issues.
  • Serve as a professional representative of Lightning Systems with timely and courteous responses to customer service calls.
  • Develop and maintain service information and history using the company’s service database and other software tools.
  • Consult with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve unusual in-field issues or problems.
  • Develop documentation, processes, and procedures related to Lightning Systems’ best practices; develop thorough knowledge of these documents and processes and instruct others in their application.
  • Read and evaluate installation and service material (engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, etc.), make appropriate updates and revisions as necessary.
  • Provide serviceability input during design reviews (prevent serviceability problems before they arise).
  • Advise staff regarding in-field product performance, customer satisfaction, and areas of potential product improvement.
  • Provide on-site training and periodic audits of Lightning Systems authorized conversion and service providers.
  • Provide on-site training for Lightning Systems customers (driver and technician training).
  • Assist with testing, repair, and production duties at HQ technical facility.

Required Proficiencies:

  • Certificate of Completion from accredited automotive technical school
  • Excellent Customer Service oriented skills and attitude
  • Comprehensive knowledge of shop and automotive tools
  • Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Good interpersonal communication skills, ability to effectively communicate in-person, over the phone, and in written formats
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and independent worker; ability to work alone or as part of a team (both LS and non-LS personnel)
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to read drawings, prints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and outside of the box thinking
  • Must be proficient with computers (MS Office suite, basic networking, service tracking software)
  • Ability to travel (may exceed 25% of time, travel can be irregular and immediate)
  • Extended work shifts, may exceed 12 hours at times

About the position:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position is responsible for providing a high level of support to Lightning Systems employees.  You will be a key member of the IT team supporting company hardware, software, and infrastructure in order to maintain computer and network uptime.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Setup and configure PCs for new and existing employees
  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Document processes and procedures

  • Ensure successful completion or work in a timely manner

 Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

About the position:

Lightning Systems is looking for a Marketing Associate to be an integral part of our marketing efforts. This entry-level position is critical to achieving our goal to be the leading zero-emission powertrain provider for fleets by supporting brand awareness, demand generation, and sales enablement. We’re looking for someone who wants to learn something new every day, is flexible, has great communication skills, a skilled project manager, an eye for detail, and a great sense of humor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Trade shows – Project manage all aspects of trade shows and expos – from reserving show space and registering attendees, to setting up and working in the booth. Acts as project manager to coordinate all activities for trade shows, expos, and exhibitions including reserving show space, registering attendees, and staffing booth.
  • Social Media – Update social media to reflect current marketing campaigns, customer stories, and product updates. Based on assessment, drafts and proposes communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, direct mail, and other multimedia.
  • Sales Enablement – respond to the sales team’s needs for specific deliverables such as collateral, presentations, materials, etc. Collaborates with sales and product teams to develop branding messages.
  • General Marketing – everyday support for marketing and sales efforts
  • Coordinate marketing materials – work with vendors and suppliers to get marketing materials produced and delivered. Formulate, direct, or coordinate marketing activities or policies to promote products or services, working with advertising or promotion managers.
  • Manage demo vehicle schedules and transportation to customer demonstrations and trade events
