Business Development Manager, Western Region (US)

Background:

Lightning Systems is entering a rapid-growth phase and is hiring an experienced Business Development Manager covering California and US Western Region.  Candidates must have experience selling in the fleet vehicle markets and have deep knowledge and experience in the CA regulatory, legislative and public funding space.  Experience and contacts in the truck and bus OEM markets, upfitter markets, and/or dealer markets is required.  This position reports directly to the Vice President- Sales.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience selling to truck/bus fleets, distributors, and OEM’s.
  • Must possess very strong knowledge and experience navigating the complex CA regulatory, legislative, and grant funding landscape.
  • Experience selling efficiency and/or emissions-reduction solutions in the truck and bus space is required.
  • The LH product requires a return-on-investment-based sale—the candidate must have proven experience with and a good understanding of value-based selling.
  • Must be able to convey the value proposition clearly and understand the activities required to close a significant size deal.
  • Must be willing to push a customer appropriately and confront objections effectively.
  • Willing to travel as required to cover key regions in CA and other key targeted regions in US Western Region. Occasional travel to company headquarters in Loveland, CO will be required.
  • Must demonstrate a breadth of skills from working individually to working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must be a self-starter, willing to work a flexible work pattern according to client need (some weekend/evening work required).
  • High-level of communication skills—including excellent writing, proposal-writing, and polished verbal communication skills.  A weekly activity report, pipeline report, and weekly proposal presentations will be required.
  • The candidate must have experience working with and leveraging technical resources (sales engineers, sales support engineers, technicians, and mechanics) in the sales process.

Compensation:

Compensation includes a competitive base salary with full benefits package, mileage reimbursement, and attractive commission structure.

Business Development Manager, Mexico

Background:

Lightning Systems is entering a rapid-growth phase and is hiring an experienced Business Development Manager covering key regions in Mexico.  Candidates must have experience selling in the fleet vehicle markets primarily in the delivery truck and city bus segments.  Experience and contacts in the truck and bus OEM markets, upfitter markets, distributor/dealer markets is required.  This position reports directly to the Vice President- Sales.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience selling to truck/bus fleets, distributors, and OEM’s.
  • Strong technical aptitude in automotive, truck & bus technologies
  • High level of experience in alternative fuels and advanced technologies in Latin American transportation market.
  • Experience selling efficiency and/or emissions-reduction solutions in the truck and bus space is required.
  • Knowledge and experience in navigating Mexico’s legislative, regulatory, public funding landscape preferred.
  • The LH product requires a return-on-investment-based sale—the candidate must have proven experience with and a good understanding of value-based selling.

Gerente de Desarrollo de Negocios, México

Experiencia:

La compañía Lightning Systems se encuentra en una fase de rápido crecimiento y está buscando contratar un Gerente de Desarrollo de Negocios experimentado para cubrir regiones importantes en México. Los candidatos deben contar con experiencia en ventas en los mercados de flotillas de vehículos primordialmente en los segmentos de camiones de equipo de entrega y camiones urbanos. Además se requiere contar con experiencia y contactos en los mercados de camiones de Fabricantes de Equipos Originales (OEM), en mercados de acopladores y de distribuidores automotrices. Este puesto reporta directamente al Vicepresidente de Ventas.

Requisitos y Certificaciones:

  • Mínimo 10 años de experiencia en ventas de flotillas de camiones de equipo de entrega y camiones urbanos, distribuidores y Fabricantes de Equipos Originales.
  • Una gran capacidad técnica en tecnología automotriz, de camiones y autobuses.
  • Un alto nivel de experiencia en combustibles alternativos y tecnologías avanzadas en el mercado de transporte de América Latina.
  • Se requiere experiencia en ventas de soluciones de reducción de emisiones y/o eficiencia en espacios de camiones y autobuses.
  • De preferencia contar con conocimiento y experiencia para trabajar con la legislación y regulación Mexicana así como fondos públicos.
  • Los productos de LH demandan una rentabilidad de la inversión sobre el valor de la venta, el candidato debe comprobar experiencia y un buen entendimiento de las ventas que aportan valor al producto.
  • Deberá tener la capacidad de transmitir la propuesta de venta de manera clara y entender las actividades que se requieren para cerrar un trato de dimensiones importantes.
  • Deberá estar dispuesto a presionar a un cliente apropiadamente y confrontar las objeciones de manera efectiva.
  • Tener la disponibilidad de viajar según los requerimientos para poder cubrir las regiones más importantes de México y otros puntos importantes de América Latina. Ocasionalmente será necesario viajar a las oficinas centrales en Loveland, Colorado.
  • Deberá demostrar una amplia gama de habilidades para trabajar tanto individualmente como para colaborar en un ambiente de trabajo en equipo.
  • Debe ser emprendedor, con disponibilidad de trabajar en un horario flexible según las necesidades del cliente (algunos fines de semana y trabajo en la tarde-noche según se requiera).
  • Un alto nivel de comunicación y habilidades del lenguaje en inglés, que incluyen una excelente capacidad de escribir, hacer propuestas escritas y una capacidad verbal reluciente en inglés. Se requiere semanalmente de un informe de actividades, un informe de proyectos de venta y una presentación semanal de propuestas.
  • El candidato debe contar con experiencia trabajando de manera conjunta con los recursos técnicos (ingenieros de ventas, ingenieros de soporte, técnicos y mecánicos) en los procesos de venta.

This position is for a research and development controls engineer to help design, improve, build, test, and troubleshoot our hydraulic hybrid systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a member of the Controls Team in the development, implementation, and testing of controls software and hardware improvements to existing and future systems
  • Modify and build LabVIEW code to optimize, add functionality, integrate vehicle support and build system level error detection algorithms for an embedded controller
  • Improve, test, and troubleshoot electronics, telematics, harness design, and vehicle integration
  • Assist with controls/testing projects in the shop and on vehicles
  • System-level troubleshooting and analysis using data analysis and hands-on investigation

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ME, EE, CompE)
  • Controls/Mechatronics theory, interest and practical experience
  • Experience in programming LabVIEW, instrumentation, data acquisition and data analysis
  • Self-motivated and independent worker with good communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Hands-on experience (soldering, wiring, DMM and O-scope, etc.)
  • Read/generate engineering drawings, prints, schematics, and diagrams
  • Must be proficient with computers (Windows, basic networking, FTP, etc.)
  • Understanding of PID control systems
  • Programming experience and interest
  • Mechanical and electrical hands-on experience
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and outside of the box thinking

Desired but not required:

  • Automotive diagnostics (CAN, OBDII) and repair experience
  • Hydraulics theory and/or practical experience
  • Circuit design and PCB schematic capture skills
  • Commercial Driver’s License
  • Passport
  • Linux OS and Bash / Python scripting
  • Internet security protocols
  • Statistical data analysis
